My reaction to a blue staining Bolete. Contrary to what you may think, blue staining boletes do not contain any psycho active compounds. They blue color is due to oxidation of organic acids. Blue Staining is not an indicator of toxicity, there any many edible and tasty blue staining boletes, but there are also a few toxic ones.
