Dec 28, 2024 · Not one deer seen until late Sunday evening except for a fork horn which is safe here in Morgan County. I'm thinking the deer are herded up in the crop fields along Haw Creek a mile away. There are less deer of course out there after the many deer seasons for different people that were scheduled by the MDC.

Nov 21, 2024 · I am thinking of one particular place in Chariton County, which hasn't had any cattle grazing on it in years. Cedars EVERYWHERE on that place. Lots of places for deer to bed in bad weather or good. Not so good for a person who likes long distance shooting, but boy howdy, no road hunters can get a shot at a deer there, either, and the deer like it.

Oct 1, 2024 · Now the steep banked creek , I take the deer off the cart and drag it up and down the bank, put it back on and off I go. I actually put a 3/4 inch rope on both banks with knots every couple feet so I can grab the rope with on hand and the deer with the other. I also use the rope when going up after a rain heading to or from my stand.
