The Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria, [a] also known as Austrian Galicia or colloquially Austrian Poland, was a constituent possession of the Habsburg monarchy in the historical region of Galicia in Eastern Europe. The crownland was established in 1772.

Under the Jagiellonian dynasty (Kings of Poland from 1386 to 1572), the Kingdom of Poland revived and reconstituted its territories. In place of historic Galicia there appeared the Ruthenian Voivodeship.

Between those dates, the Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria consisted mostly of the territories gained by the Habsburg Empire in the First Partition of Poland in 1772. Today, the territory of Galicia is split between Poland in the west and Ukraine in the east.

Founded in 1142 and soon considerably expanded, the principality of Halychyna-Volynia became the most important of the western Rus states until it fell into the hands of the kingdom of Poland and Lithuania in 1349. They divided it back into its constituent parts, with Lithuania retaining Volynia (Volodymyr).
