Feb 12, 2007 · The Synaptics driver for the touch pad grabbed my attention. I removed the driver and the system booted into XP normal where Windows promptly reinstalled the driver. Safe mode boots okay as it loads Microsoft's generic touchpad (ie: mouse)driver once Synaptics is removed.
