Winona Ryder has been in a lot of beloved movies over the years, but every actor has a project or two that got away. As we get ready to see her wrap up her role in Stranger Things Season 5, the actress has shared that one of her early (and generation-defying) movies, Heathers, actually led her to miss out on working opposite Marlon Brando.

In “Heathers,” Ryder played Veronica Sawyer, who is involved in her high school’s mean girl clique. She becomes romantically involved with JD Dean (Christian Slater), who goes on a revenge tour by killing his classmates and staging their deaths as suicides.

The Oscar-nominated actress insists she "wasn't gonna apologize" for her role in the 1989 dark comedy, which she still watches if she catches a screening.
