The National Hurricane Center is tracking two systems in the Atlantic basin, including Invest 98L, which could become a tropical depression before moving onshore in either Mexico or southern Texas.
Hurricane Erin continues to churn in the Atlantic, gaining strength as it looks to swing north and away from the U.S. coastline. It's now a Category 5 storm with maximum sustained winds of 160 mph. This is the first hurricane of the 2025 season in the Atlantic, according to the National Hurricane Center.
