Tottenham Hotspur have suffered a major setback in their pursuit of Bayern Munich starlet Mathys Tel, as the French forward has rejected a move to North London despite an agreement being in place between both clubs.

Sky Germany report that Tottenham chairman, Daniel Levy, travelled to Munich on Friday in an attempt to convince Tel about a move to Spurs. However, the report claims that Tel has turned down Tottenham and will now assess alternative options before the transfer window closes on on February 3.
