Ukraine has reponded to the US's claims that Kyiv is "90% on board" with Donald Trump 's peace proposals. The senior US official who made the claims added that it now depends on whether Russia will agree to Washington's peace framework and Trump will walk away if he does not get Putin's agreement.

Donald Trump has said the US will "take a pass" on brokering further Russia-Ukraine talks if Moscow or Kyiv "make it very difficult" to reach a peace deal. The US president told reporters in the Oval Office on Friday that he was not expecting a truce to happen in "a specific number of days" but he wanted it done "quickly".

President Donald Trump said the US and Ukraine would sign a deal on critical minerals next Thursday, in a step expected to keep Kyiv in good favor as the White House seeks to broker a quick ceasefire deal with Russia.
