The Houston Texans' new offensive coordinator Nick Caley is promoting assistant offensive line coach Cole Popovich to offensive line coach, a person with knowledge of the move told the Chronicle. It's Caley's first known move since getting the job over seven other candidates Monday.

The #Texans have promoted Cole Popovich to offensive line coach and run game coordinator, sources say. He’ll work closely with new OC Nick Caley. Previously, Popovich was the assistant OL coach, but Houston always held him in high regard.

According to reports, the Texans plan to hire Rams tight end coach and passing-game coordinator Nick Caley as their next offensive coordinator. Caley, a fan-favorite to land the job, will replace Bobby Slowik, who was fired after two seasons.
