The weather service has issued a winter storm warning for Kansas City and portions of Kansas and Missouri that will be in effect from midnight Tuesday to 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Storm Watch has been issued for portions of eastern Kansas and central to northern Missouri from Tuesday evening through Wednesday afternoon, with forecasts calling for 4 to 8 inches of snow. The Kansas City metro area is included in the watch.
