A new master plan submitted by Copper Mountain Resort aims to expand ski terrain and add lifts to “meet the ever-growing demand for developed recreational skiing.”

In 2024, Denver Business Journal research showed that Copper Mountain is the seventh-largest resort in the state by skiable area. The newly approved expansion would increase Copper Mountain Resort’s skiable acreage from 2,538 to approximately 3,038, making it Colorado's sixth-largest resort.

Copper Mountain Report is looking to build the highest lift in North America while adding 500 acres to their ski area on the eastern face of Jaques Peak as well as the east and north faces of Rose Mountain.
