The University System of Georgia has announced plans to consolidate East Georgia State College into Georgia Southern University.

University System of Georgia Chancellor Sonny Perdue announced Tuesday he will recommend a consolidation to the Board of Regents of Georgia Southern University and East Georgia State College.
