President Donald Trump’s faith in tariffs is undimmed by a dose of negative US growth and signs of a looming supply crunch.

Film tariffs are set to form part of trade negotiations between the UK and US after Donald Trump threatened to apply a 100% charge against movies made in foreign countries. Trump said in an announcement overnight that he would apply tariffs to foreign-made films to help America's movie industry,

China and the US will hold their first trade talks since President Donald Trump took office and more than a month after the two sides imposed tariffs of more than 100% on each other.

National political correspondent Maggie Haberman is “not sure” if President Trump has an “actual, specific outcome” planned for the implementation of his tariffs on other countries. Haberman, a CNN contributor,

I’m not looking to hurt the industry," says Trump. "So we’re going to meet with the industry. I want to make sure they’re happy with it because we’re all about jobs.” In the meantime, confusion reigns and actor Jon Voight seems to have some responsibility for this newest set of damaging tariffs.
