Rory McIlroy led three players who moved among the top 16 with their first start of the 2025 season at Pebble Beach. McIlroy’s victory gave him 700 points to jump to third place, Shane Lowry collected 400 points for his solo second and Justin Rose got 338 points for his solo third.

Sepp Straka went from a four-shot lead early Saturday to trailing by two, but a furious rally allowed him to regain the lead in the Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

The weather brought back romantic images of the old “Crosby Clambake,” with a cold wind whipping off the Pacific Ocean and light rain, generally miserable weather for golf except at Pebble Beach — at least for those watching.

Straka fired a second straight 7-under 65, this time at Pebble Beach Golf Links, to take a three-shot lead. Straka benefitted from about 14 holes in little to no wind, while other challengers, including Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler, teed off later and spent more time in the tougher conditions.

Am, and heading into the final round on the Monterey Peninsula, it is perhaps the biggest in the field who is just out sharing the lead.
