Two French nationals who work at France's CNRS research institute have admitted responsibility for Monday's arson attack at the Russian consulate in Marseille, the Marseille prosecutor said on Wednesday.

French authorities say an incendiary device has exploded outside the Russian Consulate in Marseille on the third anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

No injuries were reported when two plastic bottles exploded in the garden of the building in Marseille in the south of France.
