The Tar Heels have been struggling as a team, but two players did earn some individual recognition recently. RJ Davis, who won the Jerry West Award last year as the top shooting guard in the country, was named on Tuesday as one of the 10 finalists for the award this season.

North Carolina coach Hubert Davis revealed significant changes are likely coming to his program as part of a philosophical pivot on staff construction. Most notably, Davis said the Tar Heels will hire a general manager.

Davis also receives an annual expense allowance of $50,000 to be used for entertainment and “other appropriate purposes to advance the program,” $500,000 annually as part of North Carolina’s multimedia rights agreement with Learfield Communications and $250,000 per year from the school’s deal with Nike.
