US Vice President JD Vance will attend the Munich Security Conference, a prominent mid-February gathering of global leaders and foreign policy experts, according to conference organizers on Wednesday.

U.S. Vice President JD Vance will attend a two-day high-level summit focusing on artificial intelligence in Paris next week and the annual Munich Security Conference in Germany in his first scheduled trip abroad since taking office.

Vice President JD Vance will make his first foreign trips since taking office to France and Germany next week. These trips will take place about three weeks after Vance was sworn into office. President Donald Trump has yet to announce his first foreign trip.

The trip comes shortly after a newly-unveiled Chinese AI system upended the industry with its low cost and power.
