Another 3 to 6 inches of snow expected Thursday in Maine
Initially, it will be cold enough for all snow. Snow begins in southern and western Maine between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. In central and eastern Maine, it’s a later arrival, starting between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. The steadiest snow will fall during the afternoon and early evening.

In the Boston area and Southern New England, the snow is expected to start around sunrise before a changeover to sleet and freezing rain, and possibly all rain along the coast. Areas west of I-495 to Pittsfield will see more snow than any other precipitation type. New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine will welcome all snow with this system.
