James Charles Votruba (Jim), 79, of Ft. Thomas, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at home, surrounded by family. He served as Northern Kentucky University President for 15 years (1997–2012).

"Jim led with energy, vision and an uncanny ability to positively connect with all of his constituents," NKU President Cady Short-Thompson said.
