Former Tottenham star Harry Kane has given his thoughts on Mathys Tel's loan move to Spurs, having played with the 19-year-old forward at Bayern Munich for the last 18 months

Right after joining Spurs on loan, Tel revealed Kane discussed Tottenham with him by revealing to the Bayern Munich loanee that the Lilywhites are a “big club” and he will “enjoy” his football in North London.

Having only started three matches in all competitions this season, 19-year-old forward Tel decided to leave Bavaria towards the end of the winter transfer window. Despite interest from the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal and Aston Villa, he eventually opted for Tottenham after a lengthy chat with manager Ange Postecoglou.

Harry Kane hopes Mathys Tel will fulfil his potential in north London. A loan signing from FC Bayern on Monday evening, Mathys has joined us on a deal until the end of the season but with the option to make the move permanent in the summer.

If Mathys Tel departs Bayern Munich in the closing days of the winter transfer window, Harry Kane will stand alone in the Bayern striking department. Not that Tel has been playing at the No. 9 anyway — but the French youngster was thought to be a potential center-forward and a deputy for Kane.
