Freeman is the active leader with 2,308 career hits. Only 33 players in major-league history have reached 3,000, and joining them would virtually guarantee induction into the Hall of Fame.

Today, it was announced by Major League Baseball via the show Intentional Talk that Freeman was awarded the National League Player of the Week for the first full week of May.

It's the 10th time the Dodgers first baseman has captured the prestigious award, and his first since Aug. 6, 2023.
