Marvel Studios has announced that the world premiere of The Fantastic Four: First Steps will be live-streamed on Disney+ this Monday, and subscribers will get to see an exclusive sneak peek of the reboot.

The Fantastic Four have had more than four members, and here is a look at everyone who was a main member, ranked by power.

First Steps might just be the hero Marvel Studios needs after a rough time at the 2025 box office, but it depends on a few factors.

Matt Shakman is the director of The Fantastic Four: First Steps. While Shakman only has one feature movie directing credit on his resume (the 2014 movie Cut Bank ), he does have Marvel experience, having directed all nine episodes of the Marvel Disney Plus series WandaVision. Now he’s getting to officially play in the MCU sandbox.

Lee Garbett, a British artist who has drawn books like Loki and Doctor Strange for Marvel and Lucifer for DC, sees their family dynamic as key for him as an artist: “The Fantastic Four are Marvel’s first family and the character dynamics and visual design between each of them is just super-well balanced and complimentary to each other.

"I had a really nice connection with Matt [Shakman, director] and then forgot about the whole thing,” Moss-Bachrach told Variety, referring to a Zoom conversation in 2023. “Then a few months later, I was walking down Fifth Avenue, and I got a call from my agents. I was honestly quite surprised.”
