But Bayern made a huge effort to retain Davies and, with a deal now in place, they will move on to drafting the terms ahead of the Canada international putting pen to paper this week. Davies joined Bayern from Major League Soccer side Vancouver Whitecaps in January 2019 and has gone on to win the Bundesliga title five times.

Manuel Neuer has established himself as a Bayern Munich legend after moving from Schalke in 2011. The former Germany captain has so far made 547 appearances for the Bavarians, keeping 258 clean sheets.
