The musical biopic on Pharrell Williams' life as a child might never see the light of day. He has confirmed that the film has been scrapped.

A Pharrell Williams biopic directed by Michel Gondry has been permanently shelved by Universal, just three months before the film’s May 9 release.

This is per Variety, which revealed that the already-shot film has now been scrapped, after “unanimous agreement from producers and Gondry that the film did not live up to its developed conceit.” Universal will reportedly eat $20 million in losses on money already spent on the movie,
