Holders Liverpool punched their return ticket to Wembley and a League Cup final against Newcastle United after a 4-0 rout, and 4-1 aggregate victory, over a toothless Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield on Thursday.

The EFL Cup final is officially set, with Newcastle United and Liverpool proving their worth in this week's semifinals, while Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid will have to do the same on Saturday with La Liga's title race taking center stage.

Liverpool came agonisingly close to it in 2021/22 as they won the FA Cup and Carabao Cup but missed out on the Premier League title to Manchester City by one point and lost the Champions League final to Real Madrid.
