Josh Allen beat out two-time winner Lamar Jackson for the Most Valuable Player award in the closest race since Matt Ryan beat out Tom Brady in 2016.

Two-time NFL MVP and Super Bowl winner, Kurt Warner, was very clear about what Josh Allen needs to do next season as the leader of the Buffalo Bills.

Allen took home the league’s top individual honor at the NFL Honors ceremony. As is tradition at award shows, Allen gave a speech after winning. Tossed into it was a mention of “Slick Rick.” The QB was thanking those around him in Buffalo for helping along the way and beyond teammates, the staffer for the Bills was mentioned by Allen.

The viral video and it's messages of love and support symbolize just how deeply Bills fans and western New York identify with Allen.

After the win, patients from Buffalo's Oishei Children's Hospital sent Allen their congratulations via a heartwarming video. Allen often volunteers in the Patricia Allen Pediatric Recovery Wing, which is named after his grandmother. Upon seeing the video, Allen was immediately moved to tears.
