PORTLAND, Maine — As Black History Month approaches, local organizations are spotlighting Maine’s rich and often overlooked Black history. One such effort is a Black History Walking Tour hosted by Black Travel Maine, held Sunday in Portland.

Grime Studios is located in an old industrial building at 299 Presumpscot Street. It's a low-cost space where local bands can rehearse. The space has been open for about 10 years. The manager, Justin Curtsinger, says he's facing a rent increase and was forced to pass some of that cost onto bands, but he still has a $30,000 gap to fill per year.

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine (WGME) – It was very special birthday for one Maine man! James Mardin just turned 103 years old on Thursday! The World War II veteran spends a lot of time at the Maine Military Museum in South Portland where he is known with affection as the museum's living artifact.

Evan Legassey made a 3-pointer with seven seconds left and Deering scored the final nine points of the game to beat visiting Cheverus 65-62 in a boys basketball game Monday in Portland. Rudwan Muhamed tied the score on a 3-pointer of his own about six seconds before Legassey’s winner.

The truck will stop in Wisconsin Rapids on Feb. 18 and Stevens Point on Feb. 19. The owners said their primary goal has been to bring the authentic Maine flavors to smaller towns in Wisconsin, ensuring smaller communities have the opportunity to enjoy fresh, sustainably sourced Maine lobster.
