TORONTO -- Auston Matthews scored for the fourth straight game and had an assist for the Toronto Maple Leafs in a 5-3 win against the Tampa Bay Lightning at Scotiabank Arena on Monday. The goal was Matthews’ eighth in nine games since his return after missing the previous six because of an upper-body injury.

Toronto's captain admitted post-game that he would've liked to have heard the crowd more following Reaves' fight in the opening minutes of the game.

"I didn't see any other option. The puck was rolling. It was the beginning of the period so the tape was fresh. I know, I almost had it," the Maple Leafs' captain said following their 5-3 win over the Lightning.

“Noise is noise, every building can be quiet or loud. Home or road, energy is energy, so the louder the building, the more guys get up for it. It can be quiet at times going through a rough patch, but when the building is rocking — it could be booing you at an away rink or your fans trying to lift your spirits — we feed off that energy.”
