On this edition of The Odd Couple, Rob Parker and Kelvin Washinton react to the news that Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is closing in on hiring offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer as their next head coach.

As always, the Cowboys have decided to do this differently from everyone else. Like usual, things aren't going well.

And so, amid a desperate search for attention, Jerry Jones has inched another step ... The consensus top defensive-oriented candidate, Mike Vrabel, just signed a contract with the New England ...

GM Trent Baalke remains in Jacksonville and will be on his fourth coach since taking over in 2021. The team is conducting an extensive search to pair the right coach with franchise quarterback Caleb Williams for a long run.

Tom Landry and Barry Switzer never coached in the NFL again after getting axed by Jerry Jones ... head coaching job when Bill Belichick and Mike Vrabel had already chosen other paths, and also ...

DALLAS — Mike McCarthy is not expected to return as head coach of the Dallas Cowboys, WFAA has confirmed Monday. ESPN insider Adam Schefter first reported that McCarthy and the Cowboys "engaged in no discussions about a new deal" and that McCarthy is now expected to be a candidate for the open coaching positions in New Orleans and Chicago.
