An alleged leader of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) and 11 suspected members were killed in an encounter in Datu Saudi Ampatuan, Maguindanao del Sur on Monday, the military said.

He was referring to at least 16 members of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF), a militant Islamist organization, who surrendered to the 6th IB in Datu Piang town on March 14.
