U.S. President Donald Trump will sign an executive order on Wednesday effectively banning transgender girls and women from participating in female sports events in schools and colleges, a White House official said.

The new reported executive order by Trump would coincide with National Girls and Women in Sports Day on Wednesday.

The president is expected to sign the executive order Wednesday, according to people familiar with the matter.
