Canadian teenager Victoria Mboko completed a dream run to the National Bank Open title Thursday night, overcoming a slow start to beat Japanese star Naomi Osaka 2-6, 6-4, 6-1.

Mboko is just the third wildcard to reach the final at the Canadian Open in the Open Era after Monica Seles in 1995 and Simona Halep in 2015. She now faces Naomi Osaka for the chance to win a first WTA title.

Victoria Mboko has advanced to the final of the National Bank Open in Montreal, where she will face four-time Grand Slam winner Naomi Osaka. The 18-year-old Canadian defeated ninth seed Elena Rybakina in an incredible comeback victory.
