U.S. President Donald Trumpon Tuesday restored his "maximum pressure" campaign on Iran that includes efforts to drive its oil exports down to zero in order to stop Tehran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.

Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office as he was signing the document -- of which the exact content and form the White House has yet to make public -- Trump said he took the action somewhat hesitantly,

President Trump on Tuesday said that he has left instructions that if Iran were to assassination him, the country should be destroyed. The president made the remark after signing an executive order in the Oval Office that reiterates applying maximum pressure on Tehran by giving him all the possible tools to engage with its government,

Trump has accused his Democratic predecessor, former President Joe Biden, of weakening U.S. resolve toward Iran. The tougher approach came as Trump prepared to hold talks later on Tuesday with visiting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
