The Supreme Court is allowing the Trump administration to use an 18th century wartime law to deport Venezuelan migrants, but says they must get a court hearing before they are taken from the United States.

In a 5-4 decision, the U.S. Supreme Court on Monday allowed the Trump administration to resume deporting alleged members of Venezuela's Tren de Aragua gang to El Salvador based on the 1798 Allies Enemies Act.

The ruling said a judge can't block Trump’s plan nationwide but made it clear that people swept up must have a chance to challenge their seizures before they can be deported.
