ANN ARBOR, MI — Santa Ono should probably look elsewhere if he wants to come back to the University of Michigan. Ono abruptly resigned as UM president last month to take the top job at the University of Florida. That plan came to a sudden stop June 3 after the Florida Board of Governors rejected him amid backlash from conservatives.

The 10-6 vote comes weeks after the Board of Trustees unanimously approved Ono for the university's 14th president.
