Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan join forces in Netflix’s The Thursday Murder Club
Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan and Ben Kingsley headline the cast, bringing both gravitas and comedic flair to the offbeat whodunnit. Their characters, far from content with knitting and tea, are portrayed as quick-witted, sharp-tongued and surprisingly resourceful when faced with genuine peril.
The film is based on Richard Osman's 2020 novel of the same name, but not everything has made it into the adaptation.
In The Thursday Murder Club, Mirren plays Elizabeth, a former MI5 agent with a sharp mind and even sharper tongue. Brosnan stars as Ron, a retired union boss whose bluster hides a big heart.
