This year's London Marathon is set to break the world record for the biggest annual one-day fundraising event, according to organisers. The 2025 event has already raised more than £75m for charities, beating the existing world record of £73.5m, set at the 2024 TCS London Marathon.

Ethiopia’s Tigst Assefa won a thrilling women’s race at the London Marathon on Sunday, striding away from everyone else to take victory and set a new women’s-only world record too.
