Phoenix has not abandoned a deal to acquire Jimmy Butler, while Golden State is looking to extend Stephen Curry and Draymond Green’s championship window.

The last time Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry teamed up in the NBA, the result was three NBA Finals appearances and two titles in three years. And then, a few years after separating, they got together as part of the USA Basketball Avengers with LeBron James to lead the United States to a gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics last summer.

The Warriors missed out on Zach LaVine, but still have bigger fish in mind. That could include a possible reunion with Kevin Durant.

The Suns (25-23) sit in eighth in the Western Conference, just one game ahead of the Warriors (24-24). As the likelihood of Butler joining the Suns seemingly continues to dwindle, it could potentially open up a path for Durant to make a stunning return to the Warriors.

As we saw over the weekend with the Lakers trading for Luka Dončić, any deal is apparently now on the table in the NBA.

Durant, 36, famously signed with the Curry-Klay Thompson-Draymond Green Warriors in the summer of 2016, joining a team that had just lost to the Cavaliers in the NBA Finals a year after defeating Cleveland for its first championship in 40 years.
