Long-threatened tariffs from U.S. President Donald Trump have plunged the country into trade wars abroad — all while on-again, off-again new levies continue to escalate uncertainty. Trump is no stranger to tariffs.

Donald Trump has signalled he may cut tariffs on China. Mr Trump said the levies on the country “can only come down” as he unveiled a trade deal with the UK. The UK deal was announced just days ahead of China’s first talks with the US since Mr Trump imposed sweeping tariffs on “liberation day”, launching a global trade war.
