Lyon, who played three years of college hockey at Yale, has played 113 career NHL games with Philadelphia, Carolina, Florida and Detroit. He has a 51-38-11 record with a 2.98 GAA and .902 save percentage.

Lyon, 32, started each of the past two seasons as Detroit’s No. 3 goalie and ended up playing a combined 74 games, more than any other Red Wings netminder.
