TAMPA — Over the last couple dozen years, as various stadium proposals rose and died, people would occasionally wonder what it would be like for the Rays to play outdoors on the Tampa side of town.
The Tampa Bay Rays have announced new upgrades, additions, features and partners to George M. Steinbrenner Field in Tampa as the team prepares the ballpark to host the 2025 regular season. The 2025 season is presented by Orlando Health.
On a lighter note, the Rays opened up their 2025 season with a win on Friday, and they did so in dramatic fashion. With the game tied at two in the bottom of the ninth, outfielder Kameron Minser hit a walk-off home run to deep right field, leading Tampa Bay to a 3-2 victory over Colorado.
