A woman who kept Yazidi women and children as slaves in Raqqa, Syria, during the rule of the terror group ISIS was on Tuesday jailed by a Swedish court on charges of genocide, crimes against humanity and gross war crimes.

A Swedish woman has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for committing genocide and war crimes against the Yazidi people after she joined jihadist group Islamic State (IS) in Syria. Lina Ishaq, 52, was found guilty of holding three Yazidi women and six Yazidi children as slaves in Raqqa between 2014-2016 in September last year.

A Swedish court on Tuesday sentenced a 52-year-old woman to 12 years in prison on genocide charges, in the country's first court case over crimes committed by the Islamic State (Daesh) group against the Yazidi minority.
