While the majority of the tool is stainless steel, the base of the brush ... safer and potentially less damaging to your grill's grates than wire brushes (if you overuse them).

For a wire bristle alternative ... but we liked the peace of mind a stainless steel coil grill brush provided. (No bristles to worry about!) It also had a long, angled scraper and handle.
