Metrolink will reinstate service to 24 of the most in-demand lines in Southern California and add two new trains, part of Metrolink's biggest restoration plan since the pandemic began.

Amtrak will debut its new Acela trains along the Northeast Corridor starting Thursday, Aug. 28. The upgraded vehicles will feature charging ports at each seat, and a cafe cart on select departures.

Metrolink spokesperson Meredith Yeoman said the agency is working to extend the system’s compatibility to other types of trains, including Amtrak.
