Vance Boelter, the man suspected of assassinating one Minnesota lawmaker and shooting another over the weekend, is in police custody, ending a nearly two-day manhunt, described as the largest in state history.

Vance Luther Boelter, the man suspected of gunning down Minnesota Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband and shooting state Sen. John Hoffman and his wife, ended Sunday night with his arrest.

The search for Boelter was the “largest manhunt in the state's history,” Brooklyn Park Police Chief Mark Bruley said.
