The 2025 NFL season certainly wasn't a banner start for the Philadelphia Eagles. All-Pro defensive tackle Jalen Carter was ejected prior to the first play from scrimmage for unsportsmanlike conduct, allegedly spitting on Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott.

The Eagles have beaten the Cowboys 24-20 in the opening game of the 2025 NFL season, holding on for the win after play was suspended for approximately an hour in the third quarter due to thunderstorms in the Philadelphia area.

Through spit and rain, Jalen Hurts and the Super Bowl champion Eagles weathered the storm and showed why they're again a favorite to win a second straight title with a 24-20 defeat of Dallas Cowboys in the NFL season opener on Thursday.
