WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - The Jeopardy tournament of champions came to an end for a Purdue professor tonight. Adriana Harmeyer of West Lafayette had 15 straight wins on Jeopardy over the summer and won a total of 349-thousand dollars during her time competing on Jeopardy. Those wins earned her a spot for the Tournament of Champions.

With his response of “Argos,” Vinjamuri added $7,201 to his score to bring his grand total to $20,801. Harmeyer added $6,000 to her score and ended with $16,400. But if she had been tied with Vinjamuri going into Final Jeopardy, the wagers would’ve likely been different — and a tiebreaker could’ve potentially been needed.

Harmeyer's initial run on "Jeopardy!" ended after 16 games, resulting in a grand total of $351,600. She was eventually defeated by Drew Basile, a graduate student from Michigan, and Tekla Sauter, a nonprofit strategist from Illinois.
