The Texas House on Thursday advanced the Senate's school voucher bill out of committee and onto the House floor in a party-line vote.

The House has rejected past voucher plans, but Speaker Dustin Burrow says the policy now has enough support in the GOP-led chamber.

The House Committee voted to advance a bill that would establish a school voucher program and redirect taxpayer dollars to help some families pay for private schools.
