Turnovers and a lack of rebounding led North Carolina to a 20-point defeat in Littlejohn Coliseum, leaving guards Elliot Cadeau and Seth Trimble questioning what went wrong.

North Carolina Tar Heels desperately need high-quality wins to make a case to play in the NCAA Tournament. They weren’t close in losing by 20 points at Clemson on Monday night.

Clemson led UNC 49-33 at halftime and outscored them 36-32 in the second half, a margin aided when the Tigers called off the troops and subbed in their bench players (including a number of walk-ons) in the game’s final minutes.

With both teams playing on short rest after emotional wins over the weekend, Clemson was too much for UNC on Monday. The Tigers kept rolling in a 85-65 win over the Tar Heels.
