President Trump says he had a "very good" phone call with Chinese President Xi Jinping yesterday and says trade talks with China will continue. Former U.S. Ambassador to China Gary Locke joins Ana Cabrera to provide more insight on the negotiations.

Mr. Trump said in a post on Truth Social that his call with Xi Jinping, China’s top leader, had focused entirely on the trade relationship between the nations, which has soured in recent months in a dispute over the export of critical minerals used in an array of industries.

Beijing insists it has met its commitments to “suspend or cancel” its nontariff retaliatory measures to Trump’s April 2 “Liberation Day” tariffs. China announced restrictions on seven rare earths and magnets on April 4, although it never officially said this was in retaliation.
